We have partnered with Travelling Teams to block fantastic properties in and around the Glendale area. This event has a “Stay and Play” policy in order to secure a larger block of rooms at reasonable rates. 6 room night minimum per team outside 90 miles of Phoenix.

TAILGATING

  • STADIUM: Click HERE for a map of the Stadium Tailgating area.  Tailgating is allowed in the parking lots and around the outside plaza area 10′ away from the building.  Propane grills are allowed.  No charcoal grills. Parking lots open at 5:30 am Saturday, Sunday and Monday. RV Parking is available in lot E3.
  • AVONDALE ASC: Click HERE for an ASC map. Team tent area is on the East side of the building. No grills.

FOOD & DRINK POLICY

  • Water and Gatorade stations will be set up throughout the playing areas for athlete use.
  • Concessions are available for sale inside.
  • Athletes may bring individual snacks and water bottles into all facilities in their team bag/backpack.
  • Coaches may bring team water bottle carriers.  
  • No coolers or large drink containers.
  • No bulk food items (i.e. boxes of pizza, bags of sandwiches, etc.).
  • Tailgaiting and Team Tent areas outside all facilities are available.

CHAIR POLICY

  • No folding / lawn chairs are allowed into the Stadium or Phoenix Convention Center

FESTIVAL FIESTA CLASSIC (FEB. 15-17, 2020)

We need qualified officials to join us in Glendale for the 2019 Festival Fiesta Classic. You may register as an official for this event on advancedeventsystems.com. Please, read this information sheet carefully.


REGISTRATION

1. Go to the AES website at www.advancedeventsystems.com.
2. Establish and AES account (if you don’t already have one).
3.     Filter on “AAU” and “Arizona”
4. Select “2020 Festival Fiesta Classic” from the list.
5. Check “register.”
6. Scroll to the bottom and click “Submit.”
7.     If you don’t have an AAU Membership, click HERE to sign up for $16.
8.     If you don’t have a RefPay account, establish one at www.arbiterpay.com

FFC CHECK-IN, MEETING & PIZZA PARTY

Join us for our annual pizza party on Friday, February 14, 2020 at 6:30 PM. The location is still to be determined. This is held in conjunction with Officials Check-In and the Mandatory Meeting. Failure to attend this meeting could result in removal from Saturday’s schedule. If you will not be able to arrive in time for the meeting, please inform Kevin Kennedy (940-390-7470, vballusa@yahoo.com) so that other check-in arrangements can be made.


FACILITIES

We plan to have 60 total courts: 28 at the University of Phoenix Stadium, 20 at the Phoenix Convention Center, 6 at Salvation Army Kroc Center, 6 at Avondale ASC and 4 at Independence High School. You must have access to transportation as you may not work at the Stadium every day.

CARPOOLING

If you plan to carpool with another referee during the tournament, please let me know ASAP.  If you don’t let me know within a week of the tournament, I can’t go back and make schedule changes.

PARKING

Officials will be issued a parking pass at our Friday night meeting that can be used for the Red North Preferred lot at the University of Phoenix Stadium. Limited parking passes will be available for those working at the Phoenix Convention Center. The other playing sites all have free parking.

CLOTHING

We plan to provide 2 long sleeve dri-fit shirts or similar apparel. You may wear your USAV uniform while officiating, however please DO NOT wear your USAV patch as this is an AAU licensed event.
